The platform is looking for people who can read and write in English to participate in a trial of the course

Busy schedules, working meetings, everyday-life plans: stress and anxiety play a fundamental role in the long path of quitting smoking.

Commitment and time are two keywords when approaching the decision to throw cigarettes away. But, usually, busy people don’t find the time to start the journey.

A new free online course called SQUIRAL (Supporting Quitting: Understanding the theory of addiction & Increasing knowledge of Replacements & remedies. An onLine course), designed by Professor Marewa Glover teaches people about the many stop smoking methods available.

It also provides information about why some smokers find it difficult to quit cigarettes.

The online course consists of 2 different modules: Module 1 seeks to increase understanding of dependency upon smoking, and Module 2 seeks to increase knowledge of all the cessation methods and aids that exist.

During the course, people will be tested through quiz, follow up questionnaires and a few small reflective writing assignments. Each module will take approximately 8 weeks to complete.

The course is open to adults over 21 years old who currently work as vape shop staff or other retailers of THR products, low and low-middle income country Community Health Workers and Indigenous community health workers.

The staff is looking for community health workers and vape shop staff who can read and write in English to participate in a trial of the course.

All participants will need access to a desktop computer, internet data and they will need to be able to read and write in English.

If you are interested in participating please visit the website.
